Administrative Volunteer Opportunities: 

The Supported Employment Program, located in Wayne and Oakland Counties, provides job training and placement for adults with developmental disabilities and physical impairments. 
The goal of the program is to introduce these adults into the competitive job market

Summary of Position

The primary requests from the SE Volunteer would be to perform clerical duties related to the functioning of the program. 

An SE Volunteer person may be asked to:

Maintain quarterly audit lists and some data entry onto electronic spreadsheets.

Perform quality file audits

 

·        

Gather satisfaction surveys

 

·        

Gather Goal and Objective numbers for ES’s

Complete filing and purging of hard copies within consumer files.

Maintain and update program manuals and other literature as directed.

Makes copies, calculate percentages on daily data sheets.

Performs other duties for the good of the consumers, the program and the agency.

Competencies

 

o   

Proficient typing skills with speed sufficient to complete assignments on a timely basis.

 

o   

Computer literacy with proficiency in Word, Outlook, and database programs. 

 

o   

Good writing skills including grammar, comprehension and product presentation.

 

o   

Ability to multi-task and prioritize

 

o   

Ability to complete correspondence as directed

 

o   

Cultural competence in understanding the consumers with whom we work.

Qualifications

 

o   

High school diploma or GED; courses in business a plus

 

o   

Clerical experience in an office setting

 

o   

Valid Michigan driver’s license or State ID

Environment

Ability to lift, bend, stand, stoop, kneel and/or perform activities related to job. 
Ability to work in an environment that requires working as a team member in an office setting cubicle or workstation.  Air conditioning; forced air regulated by thermostats. 

Hours: 2 days a week of volunteer's choice, from 9:00am-4:00pm. (or hours within this time frame that suit their availiblity)
