Counseling & Family Support - Judson Center

Counseling & Family Support

Autism Connections coordinates counseling services with our Behavioral Services Department to provide individual and family therapy focused on the unique needs that come with an autism spectrum diagnosis (ASD) or with being a loved one of an individual with ASD.

Services are available to children, teens, and adults with ASD, as well as siblings, parents, and other family members. Judson Center’s licensed therapists use a variety of different therapeutic approaches (including both CBT and DBT) to address the unique needs of our clients. Some of the common issues discussed in counseling include anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, coping skills, social challenges, and enhancing self-esteem.    Counseling sessions are offered at both the Royal Oak and Warren locations.

Many insurance plans are accepted and private pay rates are available.

Parent Support, Sib shops, Kids Night In and Family Events

Parents, caregivers, and siblings can also take advantage of our Family Support services, geared at providing additional support opportunities.

For Parents:

We provide a quarterly resource and support sessions for parents and caregivers.

For Siblings:

We provide Sibshops Clubs, which provides both a fun and supportive atmosphere where siblings can find a place of their own and benefit from realizing they are not the only one and are not alone. Sibshops are best suited for siblings ages 5-12.  See our Groups for session details.

For the Entire Family:

See our Groups for program dates and registration.  Family Events: Join us each December and again in Mid-Summer for our family events.  We host a holiday party each December. These events provide an excellent opportunity for the entire family to get out and enjoy an activity together in a supportive environment.
