Judson Center and Child Safe 2026 Back-to-School Drive

Judson Center’s Back-to-School Drive supports hundreds of children and teens across our programs in Southeastern Michigan, including:  Foster Care, Family Preservation,  Autism Services and Behavioral Health. When you participate in our Back-to-School Drive, you are making a significant impact for students from kindergarten through 12th grade start the school year with confidence!

Your support helps provide essential school supplies and resources to kids across six counties in our community, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. Our goal is simple: to make sure every child in our care receives a new backpack filled with supplies for the upcoming school year.

How Can I Support?

There are many ways you can help children prepare for a successful school year ahead:

  1. Host a school supply and backpack drive through your workplace, church, organization, or even with a group of friends.
  2. Donate new school supplies or backpacks as an individual supporter.
  3. Shop directly from our Amazon Wish List.
  4. Make a monetary donation to support our Back-to-School Program.

What Items are needed?

Please note: we are only able to accept new, unused items.

Backpacks — our most requested item each year, and always in high need!

  • Gift cards: Target, Meijer, Walmart
  • Clothing- All sizes from Kindergarten through High School Seniors
  • Binders, dividers, and folders
  • Notebooks (college ruled and wide ruled)
  • Pens and pencils
  • Colored pencils and crayons (colors of the world crayons are in high need)
  • Markers and highlighters
  • Erasers and whiteout
  • Rulers
  • Scissors
  • Pencil containers and sharpeners
  • Dry erase markers and white boards
  • Calculators (basic, scientific, and graphing)
  • Flash drives
  • Headphones
  • Lunchboxes

Appointment Required

  • Due to our campus expansion and renovation project on our Royal Oak campus, all drop-offs are by appointment only. Mollie Brandell will provide specific instructions for campus entrance and where to drop off supplies once your appointment is confirmed.
