What accommodations do I have to make when hiring someone with a disability?

Employers are required by law to make reasonable accommodations. A reasonable accommodation is any change or adjustment to a job or work environment that enables a qualified applicant or employee with a disability to apply for a job, perform essential duties, or access the same benefits as other employees. Types of accommodations may include things like modifying equipment, adjusting schedules or providing interpreters.

What kind of support will I receive from Judson Center as an employer?

Our Vocational Employment program offers comprehensive support to employers who hire our workers with disabilities. We assist in the hiring process, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. Our Employment Specialist can help with new hire orientation, and if needed, a job coach will work alongside your team during hands-on training to reinforce the employee's understanding of tasks. We remain engaged through the probationary period and beyond, facilitating clear communication between you and your employee to address any challenges and promote long-term success.
